In late August The Basement Collection will hit Steam, collecting several of indie developer Edmund McMillen’s games in one convenient little package. Most famous for his Team Meat work with Tommy Refenes on the XBLA mega-hit, Super Meat Boy, and also for his appearance in the wonderful Indie Game: The Movie, McMillen’s games have been a mainstay on Newgrounds for years.

The Basement Collection bundles 8 of McMillen’s pre-Gish titles, including Time Fcuk, Aether, Spewer, Grey Matter, Coil, Meat Boy (Flash prototype), Triachnid and an unrevealed secret title. The bundle will cost $4 and promises tons of additional content including early playable prototypes, a soundtrack, production sketches, and even in some cases additional levels, music and Steam achievements.

For fans like myself who only came to know McMillen’s unique sense of humor through his work on Super Meat Boy, The Basement Collection seems to be the perfect way to catch up on the designer’s twisted backlog; I know I will.
